Why the medical model,
which relies on strong tranquilizing pills  for treating Mental Illness?
A devastated and outraged MOM  shares the before and after picture of the forced medical model treatments of her daughter over a 10 year period.

The medical model that is most often forced on patients is successful for approximately 20% of those treated but has life long crippling side effects and diseases for most others, and creates a serious danger to the individual, their family and the community. Emily, pictured below,  is one of those tragic stories...

But First this critically important warning taken from Dr. Peter Breggin's website...

WARNING!
Most psychiatric drugs can cause withdrawal reactions, sometimes including life-threatening emotional and physical withdrawal problems. In short, it is not only dangerous to start taking psychiatric drugs, it can also be dangerous to stop them. Withdrawal from psychiatric drugs should be done carefully under experienced clinical supervision. Methods for safely withdrawing from psychiatric drugs are discussed in Dr. Breggin's new book, Psychiatric Drug Withdrawal: A Guide for Prescribers, Therapists, Patients, and Their Families.

Why does Western State Hospital use the medical drug model and NOT
a trauma-informed, low or no-dose drug treatment model
such as the most successful model in the Western World for treating schizophrenia?
The drug centered medical model has a  recovery rate of 20%, a shortened lifespan of 25 years, and  extreme debilitating side effects and diseases and endangers the individual, their family and the community.
----------
The OPEN DIALOGUE PROCESS, founded in Lapland, Finland has had the best recovery rate for many years, treating first break schizophrenia in the Western World.
There is NO TALK of life long  mental illness, or brain disease AND they have an 80% FULL recovery rate.
It is a trauma-informed, patient/family/community centered model, with low or no-dose drug use.

With their refusal to adopt the Best Practice Model one must assume, the medical model is clung to as it is a self-fulling (create a patient for life), pocket-lining model for so many of the players!

The drug centered medical model has a  recovery rate of 20%, a shortened lifespan of 25 years, and  extreme debilitating side effects and diseases and endangers the individual, their family and the community.

WHY?
Is it because it is good for the pocketbooks of the manufacturers, hospitals and doctors?

Some manufactures makes 6 million dollars per DAY!!!

"One manufacturer is running full page newspaper and magazine ads bringing in over $6 million daily,

Lawsuits pay millions to grieving family for silence

while on the other hand they are settling Prozac suicide cases for huge amounts of money in exchange for silence from victim’s families on the details of those settlements. "

(and many of the fines ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE) C.F.
